A major problem for most prospective professional helicopter pilots is how to finance the cost of training and hour building. Unfortunately sponsorship deals are very rare indeed and most banks are reluctant to provide loans for this purpose.

British Currency One way in which some funding may be obtained is by means of a Career Development Loan. With this scheme, up to £8000 may be obtained for the purpose of training, the loan being repayable upon completion of your course with up to 5 years repayment schedules available. For the period of your training, no repayments are necessary for up to 2 years or course completion, whichever comes first.
This is a government-backed scheme to encourage people to retrain for jobs within most sections of industry and is by no means unique to aviation.

Great Dane Helicopters is a registered training provider for the purpose of obtaining a Career Development Loan and information packs are obtainable upon request. Many Great Dane Helicopters students have taken advantage of this scheme in the past, not least of all our CFI (yours truly) who would recommend it to any prospective pilot intent upon a career in aviation.
